Torridge District Council contracted Peake (GB) Limited to collect a Fin Whale from Hartland Beach, in North Devon.
We worked with all the relevant agencies, including Natural England, MCA Receiver of Wrecks and the Joint Nature Conservation Committee to develop a method statement and risk assessment to collect and dispose of the whale.
We then employed P.R. Weldhen to lift and deliver the whale to Liskeard for destruction in our High Temperature Incineration Facility.
Torridge District Council praised all parties involved on the swift and professional job carried out on Hartland Beach, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and protected area of geological interest.
